Empowering Single and Marginalized Women with Disabilities through Skills and Financial Literacy

Under the financial support of the Ministry of Social Development, Bagmati Province through the Social Development Office, Pahichan Nepal successfully implemented the program titled “Skills Development and Financial Empowerment Program for Single and Marginalized Women with Disabilities” on June, 2025. This initiative was conducted under the broader program “Protection of Rights, Capacity Building, and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities in Partnership with Organizations Working in the Disability Sector.”

The primary objective of the program was to improve the quality of life of women with disabilities—especially those who are single, including widowed, divorced, separated, unmarried, and single mothers. The program included activities such as culinary skills training, financial literacy sessions, and market linkage support.

These efforts aimed to make participants more self-reliant, confident, and aware of their rights, ultimately promoting their active participation in community and economic life. The program was implemented with the coordination of Ward 31, KMC. The project reflects Pahichan Nepal’s continued commitment to building an inclusive society where women with disabilities are not just included, but prioritized.
