Two-Day Training on Digitalization and Empowerment

The two-day training program held in Kalaiya, Bara, focused on empowering 16 women with disabilities from the Madhesh region through digital skills and knowledge on November 2024. Organized under the Disability Rights Forum (DRF) project, the program aimed to bridge the digital divide and promote self-empowerment.

On Day 1, participants were introduced to the basics of digital tools, including computer and smartphone usage. Key sessions included online safety and privacy, helping the women understand how to protect their personal data, as well as social media literacy, exploring how these platforms could serve as tools for connection and advocacy.

On the final day, the training focused on how digital tools could be used for empowerment. Sessions covered digital advocacy, financial literacy through mobile banking, and how to access online services for health and government resources. The day concluded with participants sharing their thoughts on how they could use their new skills to advocate for themselves and others.

By the end of the training, participants were more confident in using digital tools to improve their personal and professional lives, gain financial independence, and access vital resources. The program not only enhanced their digital literacy but also fostered a supportive network among the participants, helping them continue their journeys of empowerment and self-advocacy.
