Workshop and Delegation Meeting

Description

A workshop and delegation meeting were held in Simrangadh Municipality to address the
challenges faced by Madhesi women with disabilities through an intersectional lens. Key
activities included advocacy for gender- and disability-friendly budget allocations during a
meeting with Mayor Mr. Kishori Sah Kalwar and discussions on reinstating local government
employees who were unfairly terminated, along with reimbursing their pending salaries. The
workshop engaged stakeholders, including government representatives and local officials, to
promote inclusive policies and equitable resource distribution. The Mayor committed to
prioritizing inclusive budgeting, while stakeholders emphasized the need for continuous training,
monitoring mechanisms, and the active participation of women with disabilities in decision-
making processes.
