Imagine being a single mother in this cruel society
Imagine living in abject poverty.
Imagine living in a society that oppresses you.
Now imagine doing all that at the same time.
These stories are truly heartbreaking. This is a current case of a blind single mother who lives alone with her 12-year-old daughter in the Terai region. She is illiterate, unemployed, and excluded from her family. She along with her daughter lives in a small hut i.e, 3 and a half feet wide and 12 feet long. Venomous snakes are as constant fear, as the assault by men in their community. In every rainy season, when her house leaks everywhere with no money to renovate the house. Even the income for their food is not possible from anywhere. She is not even able to afford the even simple stationery for her daughter’s education. Can you imagine how devastating her life is?
